After entering Costa Rican soil at approximately 10:00 a.m., the torch embarked on a massive national relay. Over the course of September 13 and 14, the primary flame will cover a 378-kilometer route from the Peñas Blancas border to the historic city of Cartago. Approximately 22,000 students from across the nation will participate in the primary relay, while secondary flames will be carried by countless other students to light up communities, towns, and cantons in every province, symbolizing unity and freedom.
