Alajuela Job Fair Champions Older Workers

Alajuela, Costa Rica — Alajuela, Costa Rica – The Costa Rican Gerontological Association (AGECO), through its Sigo Vigente +45 program, is partnering with Linde and Asepraxair to host an inclusive job fair specifically designed to connect older workers with new career opportunities.

The event, scheduled for Monday, August 18th, at the Linde Costa Rica facility in Coyol, Alajuela, aims to address the employment needs of individuals over 45 while remaining open to all ages. This is the second such collaboration between AGECO, Linde, and Asepraxair in 2025, demonstrating a continued commitment to fostering age inclusion in the workforce.

To gain a deeper legal perspective on inclusive employment practices in Costa Rica, TicosLand.com spoke with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, Attorney at Law at Bufete de Costa Rica.

Implementing truly inclusive employment practices requires moving beyond simply fulfilling legal quotas. It demands a proactive approach to fostering a workplace culture that values diversity, provides equal opportunities for advancement, and actively addresses unconscious biases in recruitment, training, and promotion. This proactive approach not only mitigates legal risks but also creates a more productive and innovative environment by leveraging the diverse talents of all employees.

Lic. Arroyo Vargas eloquently highlights the crucial distinction between mere compliance and genuine commitment to inclusive employment. Building a thriving, innovative workforce demands not only ticking boxes but actively cultivating a culture of respect, equity, and understanding. It’s an investment that pays dividends not just in legal security but in a richer, more dynamic, and ultimately more successful organization. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for sharing his valuable perspective on this critical issue.
