Avianca Enhances Costa Rica’s Global Reach with New Flight Schedule to Argentina

Avianca Enhances Costa Rica’s Global Reach with New Flight Schedule to Argentina

San José, Costa Rica – Avianca, in collaboration with the Costa Rican Tourism Institute, has announced the expansion of its flight schedule, connecting Costa Rica and Argentina with increased frequencies via Quito.

This move, starting on August 31, introduces daily flights, significantly enhancing connectivity between these two nations. With over 2,100 weekly seats now available, this expansion aims to boost both tourism and business travel, reflecting Costa Rica’s strategic efforts to integrate with key global business hubs.

This increase in flight frequencies will not only bring more Argentine tourists but also provide more travel options for Costa Ricans to explore Buenos Aires. We anticipate a highly positive high season, benefiting families dependent on tourism and related industries

William Rodríguez, Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism

The tickets for this route are already available for purchase on Avianca’s website, mobile app, and travel agencies.

  • The new itinerary includes daily flights from San José to Quito, departing at 16:50 and arriving at 20:00, with a subsequent departure from Quito to Buenos Aires at 21:15, arriving at 05:05.
  • The return flights from Buenos Aires to Quito will depart at 06:15, arriving at 10:30, followed by a flight from Quito to San José at 11:55, arriving at 13:00.

This move is expected to significantly enhance the connectivity and convenience for travelers between these major Latin American cities.

We are very pleased to be able to announce this increase in frequencies, which will undoubtedly not only provide more options for Costa Ricans to explore Argentina, but will also promote tourism to Costa Rica from both Argentina and Quito. We thank the Costa Rican authorities who have supported us in making this a reality

Rolando Damas, Avianca’s Director of Sales for North, Central America and the Caribbean

This increased connectivity not only opens new avenues for tourism and business but also reflects Costa Rica’s proactive approach in enhancing its position as a vital link in international travel and commerce.
