Costa Rica Strengthens Position in Global Meetings Industry

San José, Costa Rica — Costa Rica is set to enhance its reputation as a prime destination for international meetings and events with the upcoming Association Summit 2025: “Reimagining the Future of Associations.” Scheduled for April 1st at the Costa Rica Convention Center (CCCR) in San José, the summit coincides with the globally celebrated Global Meetings Industry Day (GMID) on April 3rd.

Organized in conjunction with Meetings Professionals International (MPI), the summit underscores the significant impact of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) industry on individuals, communities, and economies. The event will bring together over 45 associations, professional organizations, and business chambers, along with three internationally recognized experts.

Costa Rica’s growing meetings industry presents exciting opportunities, but organizers must be mindful of legal considerations. Key areas include contracts with venues and vendors, intellectual property protection for presentations and materials, and ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, especially for international attendees. Proactive legal counsel can pave the way for successful and legally sound events.

The summit’s agenda will focus on strengthening the associative ecosystem through strategic panels and networking opportunities. Key topics will include financial sustainability, growth strategies, financing, and marketing. The event marks a significant step in positioning Costa Rica as a leader in association management and high-impact events.
