Costa Rica Thanksgiving Fest 2026 Expands Culinary Reach Nationwide

San José, Costa Rica — Sabor USA has officially launched the third annual Thanksgiving Fest in Costa Rica, bringing authentic North American holiday traditions to dinner tables across the country throughout the month of November 2026. The month-long festival celebrates international gastronomy while strengthening local hospitality engagement.

The initiative highlights an evolving cultural exchange within Costa Rica’s food service sector, where seasonal North American culinary customs are increasingly embraced by local residents and ex-pat communities alike. Featuring curated three-course menus, eight selected venues are showcasing traditional recipes alongside contemporary fusion techniques.

To better understand the legal framework and commercial regulations surrounding major cultural events such as Thanksgiving Fest Costa Rica, TicosLand.com consulted with prominent legal expert Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas of Bufete de Costa Rica.

Hosting large-scale international and cultural events like Thanksgiving Fest in Costa Rica presents wonderful opportunities for hospitality and local commerce, but organizers must navigate strict legal requirements. From securing municipal commercial permits and health authorizations to complying with consumer protection laws and liability insurance, careful legal planning ensures that both international attendees and local vendors are fully protected under Costa Rican law.

Running from November 1 to November 30, participating establishments offer specialized three-course fixed menus—including an appetizer, main course, and dessert—priced between ₡35,000 and ₡38,000 including taxes. The menus showcase signature ingredients such as slow-roasted turkey, smoked brisket, bourbon-glazed meats, and pumpkin desserts.

A central feature of the 2026 festival is its strategic expansion into popular tourist regions beyond the capital city. While previous editions focused primarily on urban dining rooms in the Central Valley, this year’s festival extends directly into coastal hotspots across the Central Pacific and Guanacaste provinces.

In San José, diners can explore diverse high-end dining concepts. Venues like Cabo y El Fuego feature slow-smoked hams and turkeys, while The Cloud at Hilton Sabana presents a pumpkin cappuccino alongside pork tomahawk and classic stuffed turkey. Meanwhile, Cultura 5 at Gran Hotel Costa Rica and Roma Rooftop at Sheraton San José offer wood-grilled cuts, rich gravies, and spiced pumpkin cheesecakes.

Coastal destinations are similarly integrating localized flair into holiday offerings. In the Central Pacific, Casa del Río at Santa Lucía Jungle Hacienda serves up bourbon-coffee beef ribs alongside roasted turkey. In Guanacaste, venues including Matiss and Malu at El Mangroove, Mono Bistro in Playa Flamingo, and The Red Door in Tamarindo deliver elevated seafood and traditional holiday meats paired with regional ingredients.

The festival also incorporates commercial incentives to enhance consumer participation. Eligible Mastercard Black cardholders dining at participating locations can receive a complimentary glass of Indigo Eyes wine or a custom Jack Daniel’s cocktail with their meal throughout November.

First established in 2024, Thanksgiving Fest continues to demonstrate how targeted culinary programming can drive restaurant traffic during shoulder travel periods. By combining high-quality U.S. agricultural products with local culinary talent, the festival delivers measurable value to Costa Rica’s vibrant gastronomic landscape.
