CREV Launches the Largest Electric Vehicle Charging Network in Costa Rica and Central America

San José, Costa Rica – CREV has launched the largest electric vehicle (EV) charging network in Costa Rica and Central America, signaling a significant step towards sustainable transportation. This ambitious project includes 88 charging points in Costa Rica and 14 more across Central America.

The network aims to eliminate range anxiety for EV drivers, offering charging stations every 200 kilometers.

Users can charge their vehicles for 200 kilometers in about an hour, at a cost of around ¢7000.

This is a significant milestone for sustainable transportation in our region. By providing accessible and efficient charging solutions, we are making electric vehicles a viable option for more people.

The network features 21 kW fast chargers, with plans to increase the power as demand grows. The charging process can be fully managed via a user-friendly mobile application developed by Costa Rican engineers. This app allows users to reserve charging slots in advance and make payments seamlessly, enhancing the overall convenience for EV owners.

The launch of this extensive charging network is expected to have a profound impact on both the environment and the economy. By facilitating the use of electric vehicles, CREV is contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and supporting Costa Rica’s commitment to sustainability.

The network is also poised to boost the local economy by encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles and supporting the infrastructure required for their operation.
