Puntarenas, Costa Rica — DEKRA, Costa Rica’s vehicle inspection provider, is expanding its reach with a new mobile station in Sabalito de Coto Brus. Starting September 16th, the mobile unit will operate Monday through Saturday, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., serving a key area in the southern part of the country.
This new station joins DEKRA’s existing network of mobile inspection units, bringing the total to three strategically located throughout Costa Rica. The other mobile stations are located in San Marcos de Tarrazú (Central) and Grecia (North), operating from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
To understand the legal implications of the DEKRA Mobile Inspection Station, TicosLand.com spoke with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, a seasoned attorney at Bufete de Costa Rica.
The DEKRA Mobile Inspection Station offers a convenient solution for vehicle inspections, but it’s crucial that vehicle owners understand their rights and responsibilities regarding these inspections. The mobile nature of the service doesn’t change the legal requirements for a thorough and accurate inspection, and owners should be aware of the appeals process if they disagree with the results. Additionally, it’s important to confirm the mobile station’s official authorization and licensing to ensure compliance with Riteve regulations.
Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, Attorney at Law, Bufete de Costa Rica
Lic. Arroyo Vargas’ emphasis on understanding owner rights and responsibilities within this new, convenient mobile inspection system is crucial. Ensuring compliance with existing Riteve regulations, regardless of the inspection location, protects both vehicle owners and the integrity of the inspection process itself. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for offering this valuable perspective on the DEKRA Mobile Inspection Station.
Drivers can conveniently schedule their inspections online through DEKRA’s website: www.dekra.cr. Currently, vehicles with license plates ending in 9 and 0 are being inspected, as regulations allow drivers to complete their inspection up to a month in advance.
DEKRA’s mobile stations allow us to bring the service closer to different communities and regions of the country, making it easier for users who don’t have to travel long distances. This saves them time, energy, and fuel, which translates into quality of life.
Julio Rodríguez, General Manager of DEKRA Costa Rica
The Sabalito location is particularly significant as it addresses the needs of a more remote region, demonstrating DEKRA’s commitment to providing accessible services nationwide. The extended operating hours of the Sabalito station, compared to the other mobile units, further underscores this commitment to convenience and accessibility for drivers in the south.
The expansion of vehicle inspection services not only benefits drivers but also plays a vital role in promoting road safety throughout Costa Rica. By facilitating regular inspections, DEKRA contributes to ensuring that vehicles meet safety standards, reducing the risk of accidents and promoting safer roads for all.
This initiative aligns with DEKRA’s mission to improve road safety and provide convenient services to drivers across the country. The company’s continued investment in mobile stations demonstrates its commitment to meeting the evolving needs of Costa Rican drivers and contributing to the overall safety and well-being of communities.
With this latest addition to its mobile fleet, DEKRA reinforces its position as a leading provider of vehicle inspection services, setting a benchmark for accessibility and convenience while actively promoting a culture of road safety in Costa Rica.
