EXPOPYME 2025 Showcases Costa Rican Talent

San José, Costa Rica — Costa Rica is gearing up for EXPOPYME Oficial 2025, the nation’s premier event for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs. This year’s expo, themed “Potenciamos el Talento Nacional” (We Empower National Talent), aims to spotlight Costa Rican ingenuity and drive economic growth by connecting businesses with consumers and fostering a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem.

From June 21st to July 26th, 460 businesses—200 in various regions and 260 in the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM)—will showcase their products and services. Selected through an open call to businesses registered with the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Commerce (MEIC), participants will receive free exhibition space, and public admission is also free.

To gain a deeper legal understanding of the potential implications of EXPOPYME 2025, TicosLand.com spoke with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, a seasoned attorney at Bufete de Costa Rica.

EXPOPYME 2025 presents a significant opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (PYMES) to access new markets and financing. However, it’s crucial for participating businesses to ensure their legal frameworks are robust, particularly concerning intellectual property protection and contractual agreements. Properly drafted contracts and a clear understanding of IP rights can mitigate risks and maximize the benefits of this important event.

Lic. Arroyo Vargas’s emphasis on legal preparedness is crucial. EXPOPYME’s potential benefits are undeniable, but they are best realized when businesses approach the expo strategically, with a solid legal foundation in place. This proactive approach not only protects PYMES but also empowers them to fully capitalize on the opportunities presented. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for sharing his valuable insights on this vital topic.

EXPOPYME, the official expo for SMEs and entrepreneurs in Costa Rica, has established itself as a driving force for the country’s entrepreneurs. At the MEIC, we continue to focus on creating spaces that connect people with the talent, creativity, and effort of those who grow the economy from their communities.
Patricia Rojas, Minister of Economy, Industry, and Commerce

The expo, now in its twelfth edition, is a collaborative effort between the MEIC and the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica (CICR). This partnership underscores a shared commitment to supporting SME development as a strategic pillar of sustainable economic growth.

The CICR has a long-standing history of championing SMEs, marked by milestones like the development of Law 8262 in 2002 and co-organizing the inaugural EXPOPYME in 2012.

At the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica, we are convinced that strengthening the SME sector is a strategic commitment to the country’s productive and sustainable development. Participating again as partners with the MEIC in EXPOPYME Oficial 2025 reaffirms our commitment to small and medium-sized businesses, a historic commitment.
Sergio Capón, President of the Chamber of Industries of Costa Rica (CICR)

This year’s EXPOPYME offers a unique platform for these businesses to gain visibility, connect with potential customers, and contribute to the overall economic vitality of their communities and the nation. The event promises to be a vibrant showcase of Costa Rican innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.

Beyond showcasing products and services, EXPOPYME 2025 provides valuable networking opportunities for businesses and fosters a supportive environment for growth and collaboration within the SME sector. By highlighting local talent and encouraging entrepreneurship, the event plays a crucial role in shaping a dynamic and prosperous future for Costa Rica.
