Kölbi Boosts Holiday Spirit with Major Tech Promotions

San José, Costa RicaSan José, Costa Rica – As the holiday season approaches, national telecommunications provider Kölbi has launched an expansive promotional campaign designed to deliver enhanced value to its customers. Running from November 18, 2025, through January 5, 2026, the “Con kölbi, podés regalar más, por eso te damos más” initiative aims to provide more benefits, bigger discounts, and new connectivity tools for both mobile and home services.

The campaign underscores Kölbi’s commitment to enabling connection and sharing during a festive time of year. By amplifying their offerings across the board, the company is positioning itself as a central hub for technological gifting and family connectivity. The offers are available for a limited time or until existing stock is depleted, encouraging customers to act swiftly to secure the new deals.

To better understand the legal framework and consumer rights implications of these aggressive promotional strategies, TicosLand.com consulted with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, an expert in commercial and consumer law from the firm Bufete de Costa Rica.

From a legal standpoint, all promotions, including those from state-owned entities like Kölbi, must be unequivocally clear, truthful, and not misleading under Law 7472. It is crucial that the terms and conditions—especially regarding the promotion’s duration and the post-promotional service fees—are presented transparently. Any ambiguity could open the door for consumers to file complaints with the National Consumer Commission, as the principle of ‘in dubio pro consumitore’ (when in doubt, favor the consumer) heavily applies.

This legal insight serves as a critical reminder that transparency in promotions is not merely a courtesy but a legal requirement, empowering consumers to hold providers accountable. We extend our sincere thanks to Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for his valuable and clarifying perspective.

A significant focus of the holiday push is on mobile technology, with exclusive offers on new smartphones from leading global brands. Customers looking to purchase a new device will find special pricing on models from Samsung, Honor, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Motorola. These deals are sweetened with special add-on gifts, improved mobile plan features, and flexible payment options designed to make high-end technology more accessible during the gift-giving season.

Paola Jiménez, the Commercial Director of Kölbi, articulated the vision behind the comprehensive campaign, highlighting the company’s desire to enrich the customer experience during this important period.

At Kölbi, we want our customers to enjoy more this Christmas: more gigabytes, more discounts, more connectivity at home, and more ways to gift technology and share.

For postpaid users, the “K Plus” plans have received a substantial upgrade. New and renewing customers on these plans will now receive double the amount of gigabytes for browsing. Furthermore, the plans include unlimited usage of essential social media apps like WhatsApp, Facebook, and Instagram, along with the valuable addition of Roaming America. These robust packages start at a competitive price point of ₡12,000 per month, offering significant value. To further ease the financial burden, Kölbi has partnered with major financial institutions, offering flexible financing through BCR, Tasa Cero from Credomatic, and Credix.

The prepaid segment has not been overlooked. Customers who purchase a new Kölbi Prepaid Kit will be greeted with a ₡6,000 welcome bonus applied to their first top-up. In an ongoing benefit, all subsequent recharges of ₡1,000 or more will be automatically doubled. This bonus credit also includes additional megabytes or gigabytes specifically allocated for use on social networks, ensuring prepaid users stay connected with friends and family.

The campaign extends beyond mobile services into the home and small business sectors with attractive offers for Kölbi’s fiber optic internet customers. Recognizing the need for strong, consistent Wi-Fi, the company is offering mesh devices to extend coverage throughout a home or small to medium-sized enterprise (SME) for as little as ₡2,860 per month for each unit. This solution addresses common connectivity issues in larger spaces, ensuring a seamless online experience for all users.

To enhance home entertainment, fiber optic customers will also receive complimentary access to the TDMax streaming application throughout December. This provides families with a wider array of content to enjoy together during the holidays. Should customers wish to continue the service, it will be available for ₡5,500 per month starting in January. For more information, Kölbi encourages customers to visit their website or contact their service channels.
