Massive 90s Music Festival Announced for Parque Viva

Alajuela, Costa Rica — A significant wave of nostalgia is set to sweep across Costa Rica as promoters have announced a large-scale music festival dedicated entirely to the sounds and energy of the 1990s. Titled “Viva los 90’s Fest,” the event promises a journey back in time, celebrating the music, fashion, and culture that defined an unforgettable decade for millions.

The highly anticipated concert will take place on February 7, 2026, at the expansive Anfiteatro Coca-Cola within the Parque Viva entertainment complex in La Guácima, Alajuela. The festival is designed as an immersive experience, aiming to unite fans who grew up with the iconic hits that will be featured throughout the night. The production team has curated a lineup that blends international sensations with celebrated local talent.

The international roster is a powerhouse of Latin American pop and rock from the era. Confirmed acts include the Brazilian artist Neto Rangel, Argentina’s El Símbolo and The Sacados, Bolivia’s Azul Azul, Charlie Sosa from Uruguay, and the renowned Panamanian rock band Los Rabanes. Each of these artists is expected to perform the classic hits that made them household names across the continent during the 90s.

Representing Costa Rica is a strong contingent of national artists who were instrumental in shaping the local music scene. The lineup features beloved singer Tapón, the popular group La Kuarta, and El Grupo Requete. In a special segment dedicated to rock en español, El Grupo Requete will be joined on stage by the legendary Pato Barraza, promising a high-energy performance for rock aficionados.

General Producer Eduardo Reifer expressed the team’s enthusiasm for finally unveiling the project, which has been in development for a considerable time. He highlighted the collective effort to bring so many influential artists together on a single stage.

We were anxious to announce this event that we have been planning for several days, so we invite all fans of these great artists to see them all together.
Eduardo Reifer, General Producer

For the performers, the event is more than just another concert; it’s an opportunity to reconnect with a formative period in their careers and share that energy with the audience. Costa Rican artist Tapón shared his personal connection to the music.

Remembering this beautiful era is something wonderful. I identify a lot with this music because those were my best years, and knowing that I will be alongside great icons of the country is incredible.
Tapón, Costa Rican Singer

This sentiment of camaraderie and respect was echoed by Pato Barraza, who noted the unique bond shared by musicians from that generation and promised fans a memorable show.

This generation is the coolest, I respect each of these artists a lot and it is even a motivation for me to give my best for that occasion. Expect my greatest hits that day.
Pato Barraza, National Artist

Event organizers have confirmed that tickets will be sold through the online platform eticket.cr, with prices ranging from ¢21,000 to ¢45,000. Sales will be conducted in two phases to accommodate fans. The first phase will run from October 30 to December 6 of this year, with the second and final phase commencing on December 7 and continuing until the day of the show, February 7, 2026.
