New Centro de Innovación Beenova Opens in Cartago, Ushering a New Era of Technological Advancement

Cartago, Costa Rica — In a significant stride towards enhancing educational and professional development, the Centro de Innovación Beenova has officially opened its doors in Cartago. This pioneering facility, developed by HHC and COVAO with an investment exceeding $400,000, promises to be a beacon of innovation for students, companies, and the broader community.

Spanning 700 square meters, Beenova is equipped with five specialized laboratories focusing on networks, certifications, electromobility and green hydrogen, robotics and augmented reality, and audiovisual production. It also features a mini-auditorium and a communal meeting space, accommodating up to 150 students per hour.

The center is uniquely positioned to offer cutting-edge training and certification programs, including industry-recognized certifications and English language accreditation from the University of Cambridge.

This center represents a significant milestone for our institution and the community, providing a state-of-the-art space dedicated to student training, corporate upskilling, and continuous professional development.
It’s designed to be a dynamic hub where learning and technology converge, equipping our students with the skills necessary for the challenges of the 21st century

Stephanie Vargas Salazar, the manager of modernization at HHC and COVAO

Beenova’s mission encompasses three core pillars: student training, corporate personnel development, and ongoing professional education.

The center will serve not only the educational community of COVAO and Liceo Experimental Bilingüe José Figueres Ferrer but also students from other schools, businesses, and free trade zones across the province and the country.

It will also engage in collaborative projects with embassies, businesses, and cooperative centers.

This facility was created as a space where companies that employ our graduates can conduct their training activities. This way, we combine our traditional curriculum with specific activities that equip young people with the necessary skills to work in these companies

Dr. Francisco Jiménez Martén, president of the HHC and COVAO Board of Directors

With a team of 21 active instructors and a core operations team of five, Beenova is poised to offer a range of courses and training sessions.

These are periodically updated and currently include 10 to 15 active courses per quarter in areas such as technology, languages, audiovisual production, and business management.

The Centro de Innovación Beenova is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with flexible hours to accommodate various training schedules.
