Sukasa Debuts Eight Holiday Decor Collections for First Costa Rican Christmas

San José, Costa RicaSan José – The holiday season is arriving with a wave of contemporary style as Sukasa, the renowned international home decor and lifestyle firm, launches its inaugural Christmas collection in Costa Rica. From its new flagship store in Boulevard 27, Escazú, the brand is introducing its exclusive “Trends 2025,” a meticulously curated series of eight distinct themes designed to redefine festive decoration for Costa Rican households.

This debut marks a significant entry into the local high-end decor market, with Sukasa positioning itself not merely as a retailer but as a curator of festive experiences. The company aims to fuse timeless holiday traditions with innovative design, offering a fresh perspective on how families celebrate the season. The comprehensive collection moves beyond individual ornaments, presenting complete aesthetic concepts that transform living spaces into immersive holiday settings.

As homes across the country fill with festive lights and ornaments, important consumer protection and safety considerations come into play. To shed light on the legal framework surrounding the importation, sale, and liability of Christmas decor, we consulted with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, a specialist from the renowned firm Bufete de Costa Rica.

While the holiday spirit is paramount, both consumers and businesses must be aware of their rights and responsibilities. For consumers, this means verifying that electrical decorations comply with national safety standards to prevent accidents. For vendors, liability doesn’t end at the point of sale; under Costa Rica’s consumer protection laws, they are responsible for damages caused by defective products. Proper documentation of import standards and providing clear warranties are not just good practice—they are essential legal safeguards during this high-sales season.

This legal perspective serves as a crucial reminder that the joy of the season must be accompanied by a clear understanding of shared responsibilities—from consumer diligence to vendor accountability. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for so clearly articulating these essential safeguards for a safe and happy holiday.

The core philosophy behind the collection is to re-establish the Christmas tree as the undisputed focal point of holiday celebrations. Sukasa’s approach treats each theme as a complete narrative, inviting customers to explore different expressions of holiday cheer, from classic elegance to avant-garde naturalism.

We designed each of our eight trends to be a complete visual and emotional experience. The goal is to elevate the Christmas tree from a simple decoration into the true center of the celebration in every home.

Among the standout collections is Christmas Traditions, a sophisticated homage to classic holiday splendor. This theme is characterized by deep reds, rich velvet textures, and sparkling crystalline details, evoking a sense of timeless elegance. In sharp contrast, Frosted Feathers offers a tranquil, serene atmosphere inspired by alpine landscapes. It features a palette of pure white spheres, soft cotton branches, and miniature wooden houses, creating the ambiance of a pristine, snow-covered forest.

For those drawn to nostalgia and warmth, the Gingerbread collection captures the charming essence of holiday baking with whimsical gingerbread houses, traditional figures, and ornaments with an artisanal, handcrafted appearance. Meanwhile, Good Tiding embraces a modern, organic aesthetic. This trend utilizes golden pampas grass, natural fibers, and a palette of earth tones to convey a sense of contemporary abundance and sophisticated calm.

The collection also features vibrant and ethereal options. Star and Bear channels a festive, British-inspired spirit with a playful array of bears, soldiers, and reindeer in a classic palette of red, green, and gold. On the other end of the spectrum, Snowflake captures the delicate magic of winter. This theme uses crystalline snowflakes, white reindeer, and a shimmering silver glow to bring a luminous and calming sophistication to any space.

Rounding out the eight offerings are Northpole Village, a direct and cheerful nod to the traditional imagery of Santa Claus’s workshop, and Woodland Wonder, a uniquely unconventional theme. The latter breaks from convention by incorporating charming forest elements like mushrooms and moss, infusing holiday decor with a touch of enchanted, natural wonder.

With its first holiday season in the country, Sukasa is making a clear statement about its commitment to the Costa Rican market. By offering a diverse and thoughtfully designed collection, the brand invites consumers to personalize their celebrations with creativity and authenticity. The Escazú store is designed to be an inspirational space where design innovation and cherished traditions merge, allowing every detail to contribute to the creation of lasting holiday memories. The store is open seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
