INA Launches Business Development Center in Limón

Limón, Costa Rica — Limón, Costa Rica – The National Learning Institute (INA) has officially opened its new Business Development Center (CDE) in Limón. This initiative aims to provide free, specialized support to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs in the Huetar Caribe region, fostering local economic growth.

The CDE will serve as a vital resource for the community, offering personalized consultations in key areas such as finance, marketing, social media strategy, and business model development. Already, 48 entrepreneurs have sought assistance, and the center projects serving approximately 180 individuals annually.

To gain a deeper legal perspective on the INA Business Center and its implications for businesses, TicosLand.com reached out to Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, a distinguished attorney at Bufete de Costa Rica.

The INA Business Center represents a significant development for Costa Rica’s business landscape. Its strategic location and focus on providing resources for entrepreneurs and established companies alike can stimulate economic growth and foster innovation within the country. However, businesses considering establishing operations within the center should carefully review lease agreements and relevant regulations to ensure compliance and protect their interests.

Lic. Arroyo Vargas’ insights underscore a crucial point: while the INA Business Center offers exciting potential, due diligence is paramount. Navigating the legal landscape and ensuring contractual clarity will be key for businesses looking to thrive in this new environment. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for his valuable perspective on this important development for Costa Rican commerce.

The INA has demonstrated a historical commitment not only to the technical training of human talent, but also to employment and entrepreneurship. We are proud to offer the inhabitants of the region this center as a development engine to help boost the economy.
Paula Valenciano Campos, INA General Manager

The Limón CDE is conveniently located in Plaza Puerto, across from BAC, with ample parking. Operating hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. This new center complements the recently inaugurated INA Business Development Center in Puntarenas, expanding INA’s presence along Costa Rica’s coastlines.

The CDEs provide free, personalized consultations, both virtual and in-person, to SMEs and startups, empowering local businesses with high-level tools and guidance from expert advisors specializing in business management, finance, marketing, business planning, and social media strategies.

One entrepreneur already benefiting from the CDE’s services is Keider Bernard Cordero, a 28-year-old from Puerto Viejo, Limón, and owner of Clean Water Caribe. His six-month-old business provides wastewater treatment and maintenance services to businesses, primarily hotels, restaurants, and sodas, using bioenzymes to dissolve solids and neutralize odors. Clean Water Caribe also specializes in pipe unclogging, grease trap installation, and septic tank services, offering sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions.

For me, it has been very important to have the support of the Limón Business Development Center, as it helps me to have a guide to structure myself in terms of image, finances… I have already put the knowledge into practice in negotiations with local and transnational clients.
Keider Bernard Cordero, Owner of Clean Water Caribe

To access the CDE’s services, interested individuals should contact their nearest CDE. An advisor will conduct a business diagnostic and then initiate a customized advisory plan of up to eight sessions tailored to the specific needs of each business.

The requirements for receiving these services are straightforward: have a startup with growth potential or own an existing SME. With this new center, the INA continues its commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and economic development throughout Costa Rica.
