His work will directly contribute to the “Probing New Physics with Effective Field Theory Fits to LHCb Electroweak Measurements” project, placing him at the heart of experiments seeking to unravel the fundamental secrets of the universe.

Spain’s Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) in Barcelona will welcome a cohort of five UCR students, reflecting a strong connection in the field of light sciences. María José Víquez Villalobos and Ricardo Suárez Sancho will delve into the intricate worlds of super-resolution optical microscopy and nanoscopy. Their research will touch upon highly specialized areas including neurophotonics, medical optics, and single-molecule biophotonics, fields with profound implications for medicine and biology.

Marcelo Siles Lobo has secured a unique dual opportunity, participating in an intensive theoretical physics program with the ICTP-SAIFR-Perimeter Institute in Brazil, while also attending an international school organized by the University of Chile’s Department of Physics. This demanding schedule highlights his dedication to mastering the theoretical foundations of modern physics. In a different scientific domain, Fabricio Acevedo will travel to the i-mar Center at the University of Los Lagos in Puerto Montt, Chile.
