The prototype is specifically designed as a physical platform to test autonomous navigation algorithms. This software-driven technology is highly relevant to future lunar exploration, particularly for initiatives like NASA’s Artemis program, which aims to establish a sustainable human presence on the Moon. To simulate the harsh conditions of outer space, the vehicle is equipped with cameras, depth sensors, ultrasonic sensors, and specialized mobility systems that allow it to detect obstacles and map its surroundings.

For the students involved, this hands-on project represents an invaluable bridge between classroom theory and real-world aerospace application.
