Escazú Hosts Inclusive Job Fair

Escazú Hosts Inclusive Job Fair

San José, Costa Rica — Escazú, Costa Rica – The Municipality of Escazú is hosting a groundbreaking Inclusive Job Fair on Friday, September 5th, at the Escazú Sports Complex (Villa Deportiva de Escazú). The fair, running from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm, will feature over 400 job openings from 20 participating companies, specifically targeting individuals over 45 years old and people with disabilities. This initiative underscores the municipality’s commitment to fostering inclusive employment practices within the canton.

The fair aims to connect job seekers with a wide array of opportunities across various sectors, including merchandising, medical sales, security, hospitality, restaurants, sales, warehousing, packaging, cleaning, reception, treasury, customer service, bilingual roles, operations, and administrative positions.

To understand the legal implications surrounding job fairs like the recent Escazú Job Fair, we spoke with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, an expert attorney at Bufete de Costa Rica.

Job fairs like the one in Escazú provide a crucial platform for connecting employers and job seekers. However, it’s essential that both parties are aware of their rights and obligations under Costa Rican labor law. This includes understanding minimum wage requirements, contract stipulations, and regulations concerning working hours and benefits. Proper adherence to these laws ensures a fair and productive working relationship for everyone involved.

Lic. Arroyo Vargas’s emphasis on legal awareness is crucial. A solid understanding of Costa Rican labor law empowers both job seekers and employers, fostering a more transparent and equitable job market. This ultimately benefits the entire community, contributing to a more stable and prosperous Escazú. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for providing this valuable perspective.
