Escazú Hosts Major Inclusive Job Fair

San José, Costa Rica — Escazú, Costa Rica – A significant job fair focusing on inclusivity is set to take place this Friday, September 5th, at the Villa Ecológica Deportiva Gymnasium in Escazú. The event, a collaborative effort between the Costa Rican Gerontological Association (AGECO) and elempleo.com’s Sigo Vigente+45 Project, aims to bridge the gap between experienced job seekers and companies looking for seasoned talent.

The fair will prioritize individuals over 45 and people with disabilities, offering a wide range of both professional and operational positions. This initiative underscores the importance of recognizing the valuable contributions of these demographics in the workforce.

To gain a deeper understanding of the legal aspects surrounding inclusive job fairs and hiring practices, TicosLand.com spoke with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, an experienced attorney at law from Bufete de Costa Rica.

Inclusive job fairs are not just socially responsible initiatives, they’re also smart business. Costa Rican law prohibits discrimination based on various factors including gender, ethnicity, religion, and disability. By actively seeking a diverse pool of candidates, companies can tap into a wider talent pool, reduce the risk of legal challenges, and foster a more inclusive and productive work environment.

Lic. Arroyo Vargas’s perspective underscores a crucial point: embracing diversity isn’t merely a matter of compliance, but a strategic advantage. It’s about recognizing the inherent value that different perspectives and experiences bring to the table, ultimately benefiting both businesses and the broader Costa Rican community. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for his valuable contribution to this important discussion.
