Guanacaste, Costa Rica — Liberia, Guanacaste – Job seekers in Guanacaste are in for a treat. The Foreign Trade Promoter of Costa Rica (PROCOMER) will host its second annual Talent Costa Rica Job Fair outside the Greater Metropolitan Area (GAM) on Saturday, October 11th, 2025, at the University of Costa Rica in Liberia. This year’s event promises over 1,000 job openings from more than 40 participating companies.
The fair aims to connect local talent with a diverse range of employment opportunities, boosting the regional economy. Laura López, General Manager of PROCOMER, emphasized the significance of this event for Guanacaste’s development. The fair seeks to bridge the gap between job seekers and companies across a wide spectrum of industries.
For a legal perspective on navigating Costa Rican employment law for both employers and job seekers at these fairs, TicosLand.com spoke with Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas, an attorney at Bufete de Costa Rica.
Job fairs in Costa Rica offer a great opportunity for both employers and prospective employees. However, it’s crucial to understand the legal framework. Employers must ensure they’re compliant with labor laws regarding contracts, minimum wage, and working conditions. Job seekers should be aware of their rights and ask pertinent questions about benefits, probationary periods, and termination clauses. A well-structured and transparent hiring process benefits everyone and contributes to a healthier labor market.

Lic. Arroyo Vargas’ emphasis on transparency and legal awareness within Costa Rica’s job market is crucial. A clear understanding of rights and responsibilities on both sides of the hiring process not only fosters a more equitable environment for individuals but also strengthens the overall economic landscape. We thank Lic. Larry Hans Arroyo Vargas for offering this valuable perspective.
The Talent Costa Rica Job Fair is a key tool for bringing employment opportunities closer to different communities throughout the country. Taking it outside the GAM again allows us to connect companies with regional talent and boost the local economy. Guanacaste has enormous potential and we want this fair to be a direct bridge between those seeking employment and the companies that require personnel from a wide range of profiles.
Laura López, General Manager of PROCOMER
This free and public event will cater to a wide array of job seekers, offering positions for both bilingual and monolingual individuals. PROCOMER sees the fair as a catalyst for economic and social development within Guanacaste and other regions outside the GAM.
Guanacaste and all the regions outside the GAM possess a talent that we want to promote and connect with the right opportunities. With this new edition of the fair, we seek to open up more employment opportunities and, at the same time, contribute to the economic and social development of the communities.
