Service will be temporarily cut off starting at 7:00 AM and is expected to be fully restored by 1:00 PM on the same day. This initial phase of the project will impact an estimated 8,284 individuals in the canton of San Rafael.
Several neighborhoods and sectors within San Rafael will feel the effects of Tuesday’s outage. The affected areas include the central district of San Rafael as well as various sectors within Concepción, such as Calle Ciénega, Los Salvadoreños, Kitimak, Las Cruces, Paniagua, Los Faroles, La Hacienda, Los Cipreses, and Lomas del Castillo, among others. Residents in these sectors should expect dry taps during the six-hour maintenance window.
The second major service disruption is scheduled for Thursday, August 27, 2026. This operation will focus on the canton of San Isidro, where ESPH technical teams will carry out deep cleaning procedures at the Victoria water tank. Mirroring the timeline of the first cut, this suspension will run from 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM, affecting approximately 4,532 residents in the surrounding districts.
A wide range of neighborhoods in San Isidro will experience the temporary suspension on Thursday. According to the utility’s official release, the affected sectors include Calle Zurquí, Bombacho, Las Manzanas, Cerros Verdes, Santa Elena, San Luis, Hierba Buena, San Josecito, and Calle Trapiche. Local schools and commercial establishments in these zones are also advised to adjust their operations accordingly.
In total, these essential infrastructure improvements will temporarily leave approximately 12,816 people without direct water access across both cantons.
