UNA Job Fair Offers Virtual and In-Person Job Opportunities

Heredia, Costa Rica – The Universidad Nacional de Costa Rica (UNA) is currently hosting its highly anticipated annual job fair, which will conclude tomorrow, August 23, 2024. This hybrid event has been a significant opportunity for job seekers, offering both in-person and virtual engagement options, ensuring maximum accessibility for participants. Held at the Omar Dengo Campus in Heredia, the fair has drawn over 30 companies, presenting more than 2,500 job openings across various sectors, including technology, customer service, and human resources.

Today’s activities include in-person interactions from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., providing job seekers with the opportunity to engage directly with recruiters and submit their resumes. In the afternoon, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., the event shifts to a virtual format, which will also continue throughout tomorrow. This setup allows participants to connect with potential employers online, visit company booths, submit resumes digitally, and even conduct interviews from the convenience of their homes.

This year, we have more than 30 companies participating and offering a diversity of opportunities that are not just for graduates, but also for students nearing the completion of their studies and even for internships

In addition to job opportunities, the fair also offers essential workshops focused on resume-building and personal branding, which are crucial in today’s competitive job market.

These workshops aim to equip job seekers with the skills needed to stand out and secure employment.

The hybrid format of the job fair reflects the ongoing digital transformation in recruitment practices, making it easier for job seekers to participate regardless of their location. Attendees have been encouraged to submit resumes digitally, a move that aligns with modern job application processes. This emphasis on digital engagement underscores the fair’s commitment to adapting to current trends in the job market.

The fair not only provides job offers but also a platform for internships and professional practices that are essential for our students’ development

With Costa Rica’s unemployment rate recorded at 8.5% as of May 2024, the UNA job fair plays a critical role in addressing employment challenges in the country. By providing a platform that connects job seekers with potential employers, the fair contributes to economic recovery and workforce development.

The diversity of opportunities available, from full-time positions to internships, ensures that a wide range of participants can benefit from the event.

As the job fair wraps up tomorrow, UNA’s dedication to supporting the professional development of its students and the broader community remains evident. The fair serves as a vital link between education and employment, helping to bridge the gap and prepare students for successful careers.
