We are talking about economic dynamization and real employability. We project more than 20,000 direct and indirect jobs during the different phases that will occur, from construction, tourism operations, maintenance, hospitality, and commerce, and from that, we also develop productive linkages.

The scope of this $900 million mega-project goes far beyond the coastline. It acts as a catalyst for several other grand-scale infrastructure initiatives in Limón province, including a proposed international airport, a new aqueduct system, an updated zoning regulator, a luxury hotel district, and a potential duty-free zone. Legal groundwork was established in late June when President Laura Fernández signed the legislative framework authorizing JAPDEVA to pool public resources and forge alliances with private entities, specifically allowing state land to be leased to private concessionaires.
Local advocates emphasize that the benefits of the project will trickle down directly into the daily lives of Limón’s residents, bolstering public security and city infrastructure.
We are also going to have improvements in the streets, there will be an improvement in security, we will have beautification of public spaces, and this will impact the quality of life.
