CMI Achieves Second Carbon Neutral Certification in Costa Rica

CMI Achieves Second Carbon Neutral Certification in Costa Rica

Alajuela, Costa Rica — Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), a prominent multinational corporation, has achieved its second carbon neutral certification in Costa Rica, further solidifying its commitment to environmental sustainability.

The certification was awarded to the ALIANSA brand’s feed concentrate plant, following the first certification obtained by the CAMAN poultry processing plant in 2019.

CMI’s success in attaining this certification is attributed to several strategic initiatives aimed at reducing and offsetting greenhouse gas emissions.

The company has made significant investments in renewable energy, notably through the installation of solar panels that have greatly reduced reliance on fossil fuels. Moreover, the optimization of energy consumption in production processes has been a key factor in minimizing emissions.

These measures have collectively resulted in the mitigation of approximately 450 tons of carbon dioxide, which is equivalent to planting nearly 9,000 trees.

The company’s dedication to efficient waste management and the adoption of advanced technologies to enhance energy efficiency have also been integral to its sustainability strategy. These efforts not only reduce the environmental impact but also promote sustainable growth and operational excellence.

In our Costa Rican operations, we have made significant strides in reducing our carbon footprint, showcasing our dedication to environmental stewardship. This certification is a testament to our ongoing efforts to integrate sustainability into every aspect of our business

Giancarlo Loli, the Commercial Director of CMI Alimentos

Gabriel Eisenberg, General Director of B4B CMI Alimentos, emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in achieving environmental goals, encouraging other businesses to join the initiative. He highlighted the collective responsibility in addressing climate change and fostering sustainable practices across various industries.

This latest certification is part of CMI’s broader strategy to lead by example in the pursuit of a sustainable future.

The company plans to expand its carbon neutrality efforts to other operations and continues to explore innovative solutions for reducing its environmental footprint. By integrating sustainability into its core business strategy, CMI not only enhances its competitive edge but also contributes positively to the communities and environments where it operates.

CMI’s dedication to sustainability aligns with global efforts to combat climate change and promotes a culture of environmental responsibility.

As the company continues to grow, it remains steadfast in its commitment to creating a positive impact through sustainable practices and responsible business operations.
